How to Instantly Elevate a Room with Wallpaper

There’s something magical about what happens when you add wallpaper to a space. It’s one of the quickest and most impactful ways to bring character, pattern, and texture into a room—no renovation required.

Whether you’re drawn to bold prints, subtle textures, or classic stripes, wallpaper gives you the chance to express your style in a totally unique way. In our own brownstone projects, we love using it to define a space—like creating a focal point in a powder room, adding depth behind a headboard, or giving a stairwell some unexpected flair. At our project Bedstuy Brownie, we filled the home with color by covering the walls of almost every room in bright and playful wallpapers.

One of the best parts? You don’t need to commit forever. With removable options, it’s easier than ever to add wallpaper to a space without the pressure of permanence—ideal for renters, experimenters, or anyone wanting a seasonal refresh.

Before you get started, here are a few quick tips:

  • Measure carefully and always order a little extra
  • Smooth walls and a clean surface make a huge difference
  • Don’t shy away from pattern—small spaces often shine with big prints

So if you’re looking for a weekend project with a big payoff, add wallpaper to a space. It’s the kind of detail that can turn a room from basic to beautifully bespoke.
