We’re back on the Upper West Side for an exciting update on one of our biggest projects yet, Upper West Side Story. Since our first vlog, this historic Manhattan townhouse has undergone major changes, and we’re finally starting to see the character of the home come back to life.
Demo is officially complete, and as always with brownstones, a few surprises were waiting beneath the surface. We uncovered a hidden skylight that floods the top floor with natural light and found original wood tucked beneath layers of old carpet. Discoveries like these are what make restoring historic homes so rewarding!
We’ve also started testing paint colors that highlight the home’s architectural details and doing our first wood stripping tests to bring back the original finishes. This is the phase where the transformation really starts to take shape, and it’s giving us a glimpse of what’s to come.
