It’s May and Mother’s Day is almost here!
We are so thankful for all the moms and mother-figures in our community. To show some love and appreciation for all that they do, we’re showing you a simple DIY you can do for Mother’s Day, along with some other great gifts for that special someone.

Step 1: Select Your Photos
Choose a mix of portrait and landscape photos. Consider using black and white photos for a cohesive look, or vary the colors if you prefer funkier style. Be sure to choose all different sizes!
Step 2: Plan Your Layout
Lay out your framed photos on the floor. Start with one frame in the center or at a focal point and work outwards. Rearrange until you find a balanced composition. Go symmetrical or asymmetrical–whatever you prefer! Snap a pic of your final layout on the floor for reference.

Step 3: Measure and Mark
Measure the total height and width of your planned gallery on the floor to ensure it fits on your wall space. Use a pencil to mark where each frame will go on the wall. Consider using painter’s tape to outline the arrangement on the wall before you start hanging.
Step 4: Start Hanging
Begin with the focal piece and hang it first. Use a level to ensure it’s straight. Then, move outward from the center, hanging each piece according to your floor plan. Check each frame with the level as you go to ensure everything hangs straight.
Step 5: Adjust as Needed
Step back and look at the wall from different angles. Adjust any frames that seem off.
Make sure the spacing is even and adjust any pieces that are too close or too far apart.
Step 6: Enjoy your Gallery Wall!
