One thing we’ve been trying to do with each season is create a new mood board to tie together ideas, goals, and projects. It’s been fun both from a design and lifestyle perspective to take an inventory of things we’re loving, what we’re not feeling anymore, and what themes we want to thread through each of our projects. Something we love as designers is seeing our evolution over time, but also seeing what we were feeling drawn to on the whole that made its way into our projects. We’re going to try to share more of them each season so that we can look back on this and remember what was inspiring us! Let’s dive into our spring mood board!
COLOR DRENCHING
It should come as no surprise by now that we are PRO color drench. However, we’ve felt ourselves shifting away from blue tones recently which were our favorite over the last year. We’ll always love a good blue room, but more recently we’re feeling ourselves drawn to moody neutrals like Douter or Olive from Farrow and Ball. We love the way pairing these with a creamier tone can create a sort of dark academia vibe, especially alongside leather furniture, stone tables, and walnut wood. Bringing together the natural elements alongside a natural color really grounds the space with lots of depth.
STRIPES EVERYWHERE IS THE MOOD
We’re most definitely in our striped era–from the curtains we repurposed on the Today Show with Jenna & friends to the shirts we bought at Todd Snyder a few weeks ago, we cannot get enough! We love how stripes add a fun, playful element to both designs & fashion that somehow feels classic and simultaneously cheeky. Plan to see more striped drapes, shirts, and wallpapers from us SOON…
HARDWARE THAT SPARKS INTRIGUE
We have begun to think of hardware as the jewelry of the home. While it isn’t a necessity the way pants or plumbing are, it really elevates the overall look and feel. We’re loving hammered brass and oblong shapes, anything that feels more artistic than practical (even though yes, you can have both!)
