This project started in a large brownstone in Carroll Gardens in what was a 70s era 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom parlor floor-though apartment. Now, it’s been completely transformed into a modern-meets-historic two-bedroom, 2-bathroom residence with laundry. The original ornate fireplaces and soaring ceilings set the tone for this restoration and reconfiguration. Relocating the kitchen to the center, building 2 bedrooms at the back and creating 2 bathrooms and a laundry room next to the kitchen transformed the layout of this home. Restoring the floor to ceiling front windows in the living room allowed natural light to flood the space, enhancing the blend of modern amenities and historic charm.
