The Pros and Cons of Buying a Fixer-Upper:

Last month, we sat down with our friends at HGTV to chat all things fixer-uppers.

We bought our fixer-upper in 2018 and turning it into our forever home took a lot of time, energy, and funds.

Did we go over budget? Yes.

Did we run into plenty of problems? Yes.

Did we learn a lot of new skills? Yes.

Did we feel lost at times? Yes.

Did we end up with our dream home? Absolutely

Deciding if a fixer-upper is right for you takes a lot of thought and reflection. As renovators, we’ve worked on over 20 older homes, all with their own little quirks, bright spots, and major challenges.

Our main takeaway: do as much research as you can before making a decision. You will never regret taking your time and learning all you can about a particular home.
