The Real Simple Home 2024 is finally out in the world! We feel so lucky to have been a part of this project alongside so many incredible designers. To our peers and the whole team over at Real Simple: thank you!
As we share all the exciting content from this home, we know you’ll want the details about the furniture and design in our space, the parlor floor– and you can find it in our new Home Tour!
The Living Room
In the living room, we were inspired by the original stained glass in the home. Dusty pinks and reds are paired with natural wood tones, and we couldn’t be happier with the final product!
The Dining Room
In the dining room, we went with black furniture for a stark contrast. We love how it looks against the restored wood window frames.

Sylvie Wood Dining Table – CB2
Althea Vase – Arhaus

Aimee Dining Arm Chair – Arhaus
The Lounge
The star of the lounge is obviously the fainting chair. We loved designing this space around it!

Lilith Upholstered Chaise – Ballard Designs
The Kitchen
The kitchen was designed in conjunction with Alex Allen Studio. We love how open and airy the design is.
The Back Kitchen
In the back kitchen, we went for a moody color drench with brown accents.

Our goal for each of our rooms in the Real Simple Home was to infuse them with elements that both celebrated the historic charm of this Crown Heights home while also integrating clever, unexpected colors and textures. We feel we accomplished this and are especially fond of the way the original woodwork is complimented throughout the spaces. If you’re near the Crown Heights area, the Real Simple house is open to the public Thursday September 12th through Sunday September 15th from 10AM-4PM. Get your tickets here and make sure to let us know what you think!
